How to make Palestinian Hummus?
Instructions:
- Prepare Chickpeas: Open the can of chickpeas and rinse them thoroughly under cold water. This helps remove any excess sodium and improves the flavor of the hummus.
-
Combine Ingredients: In a food processor, add the rinsed chickpeas, tahini, water, freshly squeezed lemon juice, peeled garlic clove, and a pinch of salt. If you like a little heat, you can also add some sliced jalapenos for an extra kick.
-
Blend: Process all the ingredients until smooth and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the food processor bowl a couple of times to ensure everything is well combined.
-
Adjust Consistency and Seasoning: If the hummus is too thick, you can add a bit more water, a tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency. Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning, adding more salt or lemon juice if needed.
-
Serve: Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. If desired, drizzle a little extra olive oil over the top and sprinkle with chopped parsley for a fresh garnish.
- Enjoy: Serve the Palestinian hummus with warm pita bread, fresh vegetables, or as a spread in sandwiches or wraps. It's perfect for snacking, dipping, or as a flavorful addition to any meal.
